Meet and Greet {3}

Hi pretty ladies, I am Kathleen the girl behind Somethin' Bout a Truck
Stop by and read about my life as a newlywed, my weight loss journey and daily ramblings about my life!

I live for good wine, awkward moments, The Kardashians/Royal Family/Britney Spears. I am confident young adult and express myself through insecure moments. I am real, honest, silly and passionate. A lover of Jesus. I have big dreams and big thoughts. Future home owner. The color pink is my favorite. I buy dresses more then I wear them. I love my family and friends unconditionally. I am loyal. I am a believer. I sing the wrong words to songs - but rock it while I do.

Keep reading All About "E" - I just love Erin's blog and love what this girl is all about!

xoxo

Meet & {Greet}

Let's all give Karla a warm welcome and hello!!!

I’m Karla, I’m 24, and I am so excited to be back into the blog world. I have been blogging on and off for about 3 years. My first blog was about weight loss as I prepared to live out my life long dream of trying out for the Radio City Rockette’s. Although I prepared…I never quite made it to the try-outs because I was distracted by a new boyfriend… whom I married this past June.
I took a break from blogging after I met my goal weight, and now I am back with my blog, “Forever Newly Wedded”. I write about my daily life as a“married newbie”. I talk about my husband, Scott, a lot, as we journey through this marriage. I also talk about how we try and make every effort to always act like newlyweds. Hence the name of the blog!
I blog everyday, I blog honestly, and I try to be light-hearted and funny as I record the best chapter of my life thus far.

Recipe of the Week {Chicken Pot Pie}

This is just not any Chicken Pot Pie this is
My Donna's Chicken Pot Pie!!

This recipe is super simple and its just the right comfort food to help with these cold nights!

I made this on Monday for my Grandma, Z and me! Hope you enjoy!

CHICKEN POT PIE

INGREDIENTS

Store bought pie crust
1 can or half a bag of mixed veggies
1 can family size cream of chicken soup
1 small can cream of celery
2 stalk celery
1 small onion
cumin
garlic salt
chicken breast
salt & pepper

Cut boiled chicken into bite size pieces (I used left over smoked turkey from Thanksgiving, this would also be good with a rotisserie chicken)
Saute onion and celery (I added 2 tsp of left over bacon grease - I save mine like Paula Deen)
mix all ingredients in a bowl and seasonings to taste (about 2 tsp's of each seasoning)
Spoon into pie crust

top with another sheet of pie crust and poke holes on the top with a fork!

Bake until crust is brown (I probably cooked mine around 45 mins)
and enjoy!

Hope you all LOVE this recipe as much as I do!

Little side story on who My Donna is... when I was younger instead of calling my Aunt Donna, Aunt Donna - I would call her My Donna!

What are your favorite comfort foods during the winter?

Xoxo,

Who Doesn't Love {Changes}

And by changes I DO NOT mean any babies!

In the past week I got a promotion at my current job and got a second job!

Z would like for me to relay to everyone, I am not getting a second job because we are broke lol
An opportunity came up with a friend I went to college with in her bridal boutique, and I could not be more excited! It will be a fun job that I get to help girls pick out their wedding gowns!

Is this not the cutest bridal boutique ever??!!

You can check out De Ma Fille Bridal on their website here and on Facebook here!

Okay so about my promotion!!

I have for almost 3 years now I have been an Escrow Assistant and this past week I got a promotion to an Escrow Officer!!

I am so excited and I know I still have a lot of growing to do, but I am so thankful for the company I work for and the people I work with!!!

I mean look at these business card pics - its legit now!

I know you are so impressed....

So moral of the story - be patient with me as I get my groove back with my new job and balancing that and life!

Just Call Me {Cupcake}

First things first....we mailed out our Christmas cards on Friday!!!!

Sorry for the bad iphone pic...google is threatening me that I need to buy more storage space for my blog so I had to take this with my phone...I have since figured out how to add without paying! yay!

Friday night we went to Z's so called company Christmas party....it was a bunch of drunks who drank for 3 hours straight and danced to someone's playlist on their laptop...not.even.kidding.

As soon as Z and I walked into the party, one of his co-workers, whom I have never met, yells "hey your the cupcake lady!!"

See I made these amazing Oreo Cupcakes for my Christmas Happy Hour and not one was eaten, so I made Z take all of them to work.

Needless to say everyone loved them, my new name is cupcake and I got asked 50 million times when I would make cupcakes again.

We did get some cute snapshots in front of the pretty Christmas tree!

Z's co-worker Michael, his wife Mintara and Z's Boss Mike.

The Maxfield's

I made two new friends at the party and one of the ladies has the cutest children's boutique that you can purchase from via Facebook called 3 Little Birdies Boutique - seriously if I had children they would be dressed in all of her creations!

However the best story of the night, thanks to my husband, since he decided to party like it was 1999 and drink like we are still in college. He could not understand while stumbling behind me to the cab why I did not think it was a good idea for us to go out with his co-workers after drinking for the past 3 hours....he also "thought" he could make it to the bathroom to throw up and that is why he did all of the household chores on Sunday!

I am the meanest wife in the WORLD!

Saturday I ran 10 million errands and drug Z out of bed to shop for our Angel Tree Child! This is something that is very special to us, we have been participating in Angel Tree since we very first started dating!

It also made both of us have baby fever even more as we were buying for the little two year old!

Sunday consisted of church, Z cleaning, eating some AMAZING blueberry biscuits and finally watching Love Actually for the very first time!

How was everyone's weekend??

It is officially cold in Texas and I am loving every bit of it!

Xoxo,

{Our} Weekend

Happy Monday - I am having a case of the Mondays today.
I really just want one more day of relaxing with Z and our fur babies!

This weekend I was determined that we were not doing anything but staying at home and catching up on our DVR shows...

Well this is how that turned out....

Friday I finished my craft I needed to go above my cabinets.
I for the life of me, could not figure out how to load staples in a staple gun.
Thank goodness for YouTube!
I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier!

My mom is the one who came up with this, so I do not have a Pinterest link or anything!

But this craft consist of an old window, staple material on the back, then tie a burlap ribbon on to your letter of choice and then staple the burlap to the window!

I really like what it added to the normal nick-knacks I had above our cabinets.

The rest of our Friday night consisted of pizza, DVR and me falling asleep by 930!
Best. Friday. Ever.

Saturday I surprised Z with a date day to Grapevine for Mexican food and a glass blowing class!

A couple of months ago he said how cool it would be to do a class,
so I did a little research and surprised him!!!

He had so much fun and I can not wait to get our ornament in the mail!

Sunday, after getting to sleep in late, we cleaned the house and I started baking for my Christmas Happy Hour!!

I am not sure what these are called but you just heat Hersey Kisses onto a pretzel using the trusty ol' microwave, then press M&M's into the Hersey Kiss.

I also made chocolate chip M&M cookies....Z helped me take some out of the oven and might have scraped the entire top off....no worries those he got to "test" to make sure they were good enough for the guest!

I am pretty much all set to go for my Christmas Happy Hour, which makes me very happy and not stressed!!

How was your weekend?
Did you do any crafts or Christmas baking??

Xoxo,
