Just {Dance}

Not to brag, but I kick butt at Xbox Kinect dancing!! Z and I went to Chase and Alyssa's on Friday for dinner and game night!

This is such a good time and such a good workout.

I can honestly say that my neck is sore from "whipping my hurr back and forth"

Alyssa and I had a lot of fun dancing!!

The boys did such a good job..even Z and he is not a dancer what-so-ever!

Lovely snap shots it takes when you are finished!

Favorite quote of the night - "She is a queen and I am a Ace, and your about to get straight flushed!

DIY {Removing} Tile

So today is finally the day that I thought would never come....we get our new flooring installed!

We have patiently waited (well maybe kicked and screamed the whole time) for 2 years for this day!

The only thing Lowe's would not do was take up the tile in front of our fire place, so this is where Z and I come into play!

Z working hard getting the tile up...

Me, modeling sexy safety glasses so that tile does not get in my eyes...notice the smile

realizing that we only had one pair of safety glasses, so I got my old sun glasses out

Z being such a trooper to snap a pic with me since I need it "for the blog"

And this is how I remove tile...purple sunglasses and a glass of wine!!

Disclaimer: We are in no way professional tile removers. Z said about 3 times during the process he realizes now why we went to college, because neither one of us are cut out for manual labor.

This also may be a VERY BIG surprise to everyone....I do not do manual labor. I now have a callus on my hand due to breaking up tile. It may have ruined my manicure!

More pics to come of our new floors - yay!!

Guilty {Pleasure}

I seriously can not believe I am sharing this with everyone...

Z and I on Sunday's watch Black Gold on TruTv

Seriously I get sucked into this show and I have no interest whatsoever in what goes on while working an oil rig! Its like a train wreck and I can't stop looking!!

These grown men have more drama and issues that teenage girls!!

No judgement here remember....my husband just turns on the TV and I get sucked into this trash!!

Girls {Weekend}

On Saturday Alyssa hosted a Stella and Dot trunk show in her beautiful home! We had such a great time and such a good turn out!!

Here she is modeling with all of the jewelry!!

Sunday Alyssa and I took a trip to Ulta so that I could help her achieve "Big Texas Hair". Which is an ultimate must if you are living in Fort Worth!!

We both got Psst Dry Shampoo which I actually really like, possibly more than Ballistic. The bottle is bigger and it smells really good!

Also while we were at Ulta we both got the new Nicki Minaj nail polish! I am sporting the pink and sparkle nails as we speak! Even Z said he like my new Nicki Minaj nail polish!

And finally on Sunday I got to spend a lot of quality time with this guy!!

How was everyone's weekend? I am so happy ours are finally slowing down!

Weekend {Adventures}

This past weekend we relaxed like a true married couple!

We picked sweet little Acer from his very first time at Doggy Day Camp which wore his little booty out! He passed out and slept all night the moment he got home!

                           Zach and I had a date night Friday of Momma's Pizza and our DVR...Jealous??

Saturday Louie and I both got our hair did...different places of course!

I got blonde put in my hair for the first time since my freshman year in High School! I was freaking out at first but it is definitely growing on me! All else fails and I can just die it back brown!

Little Louie needed a hair cut worse than we thought! When we picked him up from Petsmart we did not even recognize the little guy because his eyes were so big! That is how bad his hair had gotten...judge if you want!

Sunday my sweet parents came and spent 5 hours while my step dad put up 5 light fixtures and replaced some trim around our house! A little a little more than they bargained for! But we did take them to Fred's for a yummy burger afterward!

How was your weekend? It was really nice to be able to sleep in and not have anything we "had" to do!

Product Review {Dry Shampoo}

I am all for not washing my hair everyday since my hair gets pretty dry. I have tried a couple of different dry shampoo's, one being Tresemme Dry Shampoo which I liked but getting the shampoo to actually come out of the container was another story.

I have read some tweets and blogs about Ballistic Dry Shampoo, so the other day at Ulta I found it!

I am absolutely in love with this dry shampoo. It does not add grease to your hair and it always comes out of the bottle!!

I am currently using the Ballistic Fresh Dry Shampoo...but I am on the hunt for the volumizing one!!

Recipe of The Week {King Ranch Mac N' Cheese}

King Ranch Chicken Mac and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 (16-oz.) package cellentani pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 (10-oz.) can diced tomatoes and green chiles
  • 1 (8-oz.) package pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed
  • 3 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 (10 3/4-oz.) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 cups (6 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
  2. 2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell pepper, and sauté 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in tomatoes and green chiles and prepared cheese product; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes or until cheese melts. Stir in chicken, next 4 ingredients, and hot cooked pasta until blended. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 10-inch cast-iron skillet or 11- x 7-inch baking dish; sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  3. 3. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly.

This receipe was in my December issue of Southern Living after seeing the yummy picture on the front of the magazine I knew I had to make it!!

It was definitely husband approved!! Now I am on the search for a cast iron skillet!!

Short or {Long}

I am so not trying to be one of those girls that chops all of my hair off right after the wedding, but ladies something has got to be done!

I dont know if I am just getting to use to my hair, need new hair product, or am just needing a change!!
But I am not very happy with my hair right now!!

Here are my options:

I really like the long swing bobs right now....but

I love love love the long layer messy curles look too....I may just need to wake up earlier and get a better curling iron!

What do you guys think?

{New} Year Resolutions

After doing my 2011 recap I told Z I hope our 2012 is a little more relaxing!

We had so many big events every month last year. I am sure this year will not be any different!

There is something about starting a new year that makes me feel like I get to start fresh! I know I am still the same person but I have a whole year to tackle and do the things I really want to do!

This year I am working on contentment. I really struggle with being happy with what I have. Whether that be wanting new clothes, new house, new car, etc...I struggle with being content with not having new things.

God has blessed Z and I with so much and never lets us go without. I am working on being more than grateful for all things he has provided us that we are very unworthy of receiving.

My New Year Resolutions are as follows:

~ Spend more time with God. I am hoping to find a bible study to start my quite times in the mornings before my crazy day begins.

~ Work on being healthy and putting my health in front of everything. That means I will actually have to workout...pray for me on this one!

~ Keep our house and life as organized as I humanly can.

~ Spend more quality time with my husband. Not quality time with both of us on twitter or Facebook. But more time with just us and no distractions.

~ Make more of an effort with our families to see them on more of a regular basis. Some people are not as lucky as we are to live so close to both of our families.

These are just some of my resolutions. What are yours that you really want to work on this year? Remember we are all only human so if we fail to do something we can always start over the next day.
