Happy Hunger Games {Movie Review}

..."and may the odds be ever in your favor"

I still have about 10 chapters left in the first book, however I could not wait to go see the movie.

Like the Twilight movies, if you have read the book it is a good refresher of what you have already read. If you are not a reader, make an exception, you will not regret it!

The movie producers did such a good job of staying with the story line of the book for the most part. The only big thing they left out was where Haymitch tells Katniss and Peeta to go about the games as a team. You get the idea of it, but it would have been easy to let him work that into a conversation.

I about died when I saw they casted Woody Harrelson as Haymitch. I could not have picked a better Hymatch myself! He is spot on with how Haymitch is portrayed in the book.

The moment that Katniss volunteered as tribute, I was fighting back tears. This is such an emotional time in the book and you can really see it come to life in the movie.

I love how they made the Capitol people look! It is just as I envisioned when reading the book!

Overall, I really loved the movie. Dare I say they did a better job at the first movie than Twilight did at theirs...gasp, I know I know!

Speaking of Twilight, I was so excited to know the trailer for the upcoming movie was going to be shown.

Seriously though, this is all you give us???

I would have liked a bit more of a teaser than that!!

Lastly, I had a dream Monday night I was in the Hunger Games! I have not had that bad of sleep in a really long time...obviously I did not do well. Seriously, I would just run to the cornucopia to die! There is no way I could ever have the survivor skills like Katniss! Randomly I know how to shoot a deer rifle and shot gun (I think secretly my dad wanted a boy and as punishment he got the biggest girly girl ha!)

So other than knowing how to shoot those two guns, I would be completely hopeless!

What did you guys think of the movie? Can't wait to finish the first book so I can move on to the next!

Xoxo,

"E"

  1. I loved the movie as well, and agree with you about it being better than Twilight's first movie!!

    However, I agree with you that they could have added a few bits of dialogue to better explain what was going on... I know we had to explain scenes to one of my friends who hadn't read the books.

    I am totally with you on the survival skills!! Not knowing how/when I would be killed would drive me nuts!! I would probably cornucopia-it too, or maybe even just off myself if it got bad enough!! Let's just hope our country never decides to hold Hunger Games!! lol
