Becoming a {Home}

I seriously wish I could insert a loud
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
here.

Our house is starting to look like a home!

We were so excited to go by on Friday and see brick!
We went by again on Sunday and the whole left side of our house is bricked!

We definitely have weeks to go before it is ready, but our builder told us this past week that in the next two weeks we should have flooring (except hardwood), paint, cabinets and trim!

We spent a good hour or so out at our house on Sunday and it is just such an amazing experience to walk into this house and think its going to be ours!

I am so proud of Z and I for working hard to get to do this!

My party planning mode is already kicking in!!!

Tour Our Home {Tuesday}

~ Our Bedroom ~

I feel like there should be a drum roll....I love love love my bedroom! My inspiration was a Tiffany's box and I wanted everything to be shabby chic and girly!

I am very lucky that Z does not mind how girly our bedroom is, I am sure I will have to tone it down once we move!

This is the view walking up the stairs to our room...I love this wall art because I feel like it sets the tone to our bedroom! (that I am a princess of course!)

This is one of the first things you see coming in...I love this bird picture!

Here is our bedroom!!! I was very adamant that I would have a chandelier in my bedroom! Z hates it because of course our bedroom is upstairs and heat rises! He says all the time we need a ceiling fan!

I display some of the jewelry that I wear all the time! I like to think its an easy decoration to your room! (and of course, this is how I justify my jewelry spending)

And lastly our ruffle shower curtain! I looked for one everywhere and finally found this one at Bed Bath and Beyond! I love that it pulls all of our colors together.

I am so glad I got to share our house with all of you! I know that I am guilty of just living day to day in my home and not being appreciative of what I have!

I love when I have new people come over and compliment me on my home! It makes me remember how much I love it!

Z and I have decided with some recent change of events, we will be staying in our home for another year, so I will definitely be making some adjustments to what we already have!

I can't wait to start redecorating!!

You can see all of the other tour our home here, here, here and here!

Hope you enjoyed!

Tour Our Home {Tuesday}

~ Guest Bedroom and Bathroom ~

a/k/a our bastard room, catch-all, dog's room, parent's room, Z's closet, etc.

This is definitely our "bastard room" because it was the last part of the house to get decorated. I am a lot happier with the way it looks now, it used to just have everything that was left over from our college rooms!

Also, this room is the reason I WILL have a study in our next home! Its a must! One of my pet peeves is having an "office" in a bedroom - I think its because in college we had no choice, our bedroom was our study, bedroom, vanity area, dog room, etc.

Do any of you have a "bastard room"? I even have two picture frames out that do not have pictures in them....one day it will be complete!

Tour Our Home {Tuesday}

~ KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM ~

This is another one of my FAVORITE places in the house! I love to cook so I do spend a lot of my time here!

A couple things that are my favorite in my kitchen are my MASSIVE sink! This thing could fit 2 Ace's in it !(And that's a lot) Another is the china cabinet by our kitchen table, my aunt gave this to me and it is perfect to store our super cute dishes! And last but not least my apron holder! I love love aprons and my grandparents surprised me one evening at my house with the holder! I usually rotate my aprons depending on the season and which one I want to wear!

Of course my Paula Deen apron is on display right now!

You can see the past two tour of our home here and here!

So what do you think about the kitchen?? We have come a long way from the horrible cabinets and 1980 appliances!

Tour Our Home {Tuesday}

~ OUR LIVING ROOM ~

Other than our bedroom, the living room is my favorite part of the house! I am in love with the colors we chose and it is where I have a lot of our wedding pictures displayed.

From the pictures last week you could see that every single wall was white (the prior owner had "apartment" white painted a/k/a painted everything in the house white).

Every wall in our home now is painted a color! I LOVE color!

So what do you gals think?? Looks a lot better than what you saw last week right?

How are you in your homes?? Do you like a lot of color or do you stay neutral?

Xoxo,

PS. This post is late because Z and I woke up this morning with food poisoning....from the dinner I made last night! Wife of the year!

Tour Our Home {Tuesdays}

I am so excited to start this new blog series with you gals!

We will own our home 3 years in January 2013 and we are listing it to sell in December of this year! We of course finally have everything where we want it and how we want it right before we sell it!

It is definitely something that is bittersweet selling our first home (even though Z doesn't consider it his first home). This was my first big purchase out of college all on my own!

I bought this house in Janurary 2010 and completely remodeled it.

So for you to fully understand and appreciate what our house currently looks like you have to see what it looked like when I bought it!

(both my parents are in real estate and my dad is a builder, so I definitely had an advantage on remodeling)

Now that y'all are all thinking what Z thought the first time he saw this "thing"...."Why would you buy this?? And how is it going to look good at all?"

I definitely found a little diamond in the rough....well more like diamond that had not been taken care of and had been pulled out of the dumpster!! Mind you, I had to live in our house looking like this for a couple of months!!

Stay tuned next week and I will show you what it looks like remodeled! I promise our house does not look ghetto like it does in these pics!!

Have any of you gals remodeled a house??? Or even built one??

Xoxo,
