{Our} Weekend

Happy Monday - I am having a case of the Mondays today.
I really just want one more day of relaxing with Z and our fur babies!

This weekend I was determined that we were not doing anything but staying at home and catching up on our DVR shows...

Well this is how that turned out....

Friday I finished my craft I needed to go above my cabinets.
I for the life of me, could not figure out how to load staples in a staple gun.
Thank goodness for YouTube!
I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier!

My mom is the one who came up with this, so I do not have a Pinterest link or anything!

But this craft consist of an old window, staple material on the back, then tie a burlap ribbon on to your letter of choice and then staple the burlap to the window!

I really like what it added to the normal nick-knacks I had above our cabinets.

The rest of our Friday night consisted of pizza, DVR and me falling asleep by 930!
Best. Friday. Ever.

Saturday I surprised Z with a date day to Grapevine for Mexican food and a glass blowing class!

A couple of months ago he said how cool it would be to do a class,
so I did a little research and surprised him!!!

He had so much fun and I can not wait to get our ornament in the mail!

Sunday, after getting to sleep in late, we cleaned the house and I started baking for my Christmas Happy Hour!!

I am not sure what these are called but you just heat Hersey Kisses onto a pretzel using the trusty ol' microwave, then press M&M's into the Hersey Kiss.

I also made chocolate chip M&M cookies....Z helped me take some out of the oven and might have scraped the entire top off....no worries those he got to "test" to make sure they were good enough for the guest!

I am pretty much all set to go for my Christmas Happy Hour, which makes me very happy and not stressed!!

How was your weekend?
Did you do any crafts or Christmas baking??

Xoxo,

Our {Thankful} Thanksgiving

Happy MONDAY!!!!

I have seriously not ever been so excited it is Monday because I had a very busy holiday weekend!

Thursday after stuffing our belly's 2 times, I sweet talked Z into taking on the crazies at Walmart at 8 pm on Thanksgiving night!

Needless to say I got everything I wanted!!!

Friday morning I headed out to get some of the good deals at other stores since dealing with the crazies on Thursday night was just not enough!

I found this little gem at Hobby Lobby for only $2.99!!!
What is a southern crafting girl without her leopard glue gun?!?!

My 3 Christmas crafts included these pretty bottles!

The very easy but very time consuming ornament wreath!
It looks so good on my front door!

AND this super cute Christmas card holder!
(I am going to keep it up all year long!)

how-to here....and no I didn't drink all of those bottles of wine in one night, it was two.

We even got all of our Christmas decorations up and I wrapped all of the presents!

Our two favorite ornaments - Ace and Louie!

Saturday night we met Alyssa and Chase in Downtown Fort Worth for the Parade of Lights!

Our favorite two floats were the motorcycle riding Elvis and Babe's Chicken House old bus!

On Sunday after church, we celebrated our babies 5th birthday!!!

Sweet Little Ace turned 5 years old yesterday!!!

How was y'alls Thanksgiving??
Did anyone else do any Christmas crafts or decorate your tree?

HAPPY ELECTION DAY and My Weekend {Weekend}

HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!!

You wanna know what I am so excited about happening today????

The dumb political commericals about who didn't pass their 5th grade history test being off of my TV!!!

This whole election has made me feel like this....

However Friday morning I voted and then wore this super cute sticker all day long!!

My Mommy and I went to Canton Trade Days on Friday afternoon and I got some really good stuff! Can't wait to redecorate a few things in our house!!

(Yard Art, new vase for my bedroom, old window and "G" that my mom is going to get crafty with for me, and our new accent table for our guest bedroom)

Saturday after THE BEST MASSAGE OF MY LIFE, I ran 50 million errands and then got ready for a night in Dallas with Alyssa, Chase and Alyssa's Parents!

We had a very yummy dinner from Ocean Prim and had the most amazing cocktail called a Cucumber Gimlet...seriously if you know how to make these delicious things hit a sista up! I need that recipe!

Here are some pics from Saturday Night!

(Yes I still own my Limited Too lime green flower mirror from the matching caboodle I HAD TO HAVE Circa 1997)

Chase, Alyssa, me and Z

Me and my Boo

Alyssa and her Boo

BFFs!!

Also a few dinner convos....

Me: Yes, Alyssa saved my life in South Padre because some nasty guy tried to take me in a porta potty with him and then Alyssa karate chopped him in the neck!

Alyssa's Mom: Ken did you hear that Alyssa saved Erin!!!

Me: And then she made me a tuna fish sandwich with her hands because we forgot spoons...

Chase Alyssa's Boyfriend: So she saved you and fed you....kinda like Jesus!!!

Also...you know your in Dallas when......the random guy you ask to take your pictures ask "Do we want the bags in the picture?" why yes kind gentleman we do want our amazing purses in the picture thank you!

In Fort Worth, NO man would EVER ask you a nice question like that!

Sunday consisted of Z and I taking a 3 hour nap...oh wait that was only me who slept for 3 hours...

How was everyone's weekend?? Any funny stories you would like to share??
Wanna share who your voting for??

Halloween {Crafting}

In an attempt to get into the Halloween Spirit and get my Pinterest crafting fix for the month, here are a few Halloween crafts I did this past week!

Halloween mix! My boss and I handed these out to our clients!

We kind of took a few mixes we liked from different Halloween mixes on Pinterest

Halloween Mix
~1 bag stick pretzels
~1 bag caramel pop corn
~2 bags candy corn
~1 bag candy corn flavored M&M's
~ 1/2 bag plain bugles
~ 1/2 bag white chocolate dipped bugles sprinkled with Halloween sprinkles

Last night I decorated the pumpkins I got this weekend at the farmer's market.

So I am not the best at the Chevron design, Z thought I was trying to make it look 3D.....

What Halloween crafts have you done?

Small {Fall} Craft and Fall Decor

Something about fall makes me want to craft and bake EVERYDAY!

Saturday after my very unsuccessful garage sale and after my two hour nap I decided to finally decorate the two "crafting pumpkins" I bought at Target.

What you will need for this very easy very fast craft is:
two crafting pumpkins (I got mine at Target for $4 each)
Modge Podge (a must for any craft project)
Glitter (I chose orange from Hobby Lobby)
and a sponge brush.

Cover a small section of the crafting pumpkin with Modge Podge using the paint sponge

Sprinkle Glitter over modge modge and let dry overnight

And WAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM - a sparkly pumpkin to decorate your house!

(once the pumpkin is dry, you may want to shake it a little to get any loose glitter off)

I loved this craft project because it was super easy and literally took 10 minutes to complete. I can't get too overboard on the crafts, as we do not have a whole lot of space for me to fill my house!

Moving on to Fall decorating....

I am more of a Fall decorator rather than decorating for Halloween. I am sure once Z and I have children that will change but until then Fall it is!

This is a picture of our China Cabinet - I bought the harvest blocks at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago.

This is the only Halloween decoration I currently have, because Z liked it. I got this printable from here. There are a TON of cute printables on Pinterest.

This cute printable I got from this fabulous blog - the candy corn in the glass pumpkin is suppose to be more for looks, however Z and I can not stop eating them!

And I love these wood pumpkins I got from Target last year! I can put them out in September and carry them over to November!

Have you tried any new Fall crafts from Pinterest? What decorations have you done in your home to get ready for Fall?

Xoxo,

PS. sorry for the IPhone pics, I am trying to get better about not relying on that it for everything!

I've Been {Crafty}

I know we all "pin" these crafty little things on Pinterest and think "yes one day I will absolutely make that!"

Well I pinned like 50,000 crafts and finally decided I would try a couple out!

The first "pin" I tried was wedding photos on wooden frames

I feel like I could do this...so I shall give it a try!

I however changed it up a bit - I could not hang it straight across and I decided to use 8X10 canvas instead of wood.

(please excuse this sideways picture...you will need 3 8X10 canvas, modge padge, paint sponge and 3 8X10 photos)

(using paint sponge spread modge podge on back of picture and then place on canvas. Let dry)

(Once your pictures have dried, you and your furry little helper place the pictures the same width apart and lay tulling across the back of the canvas)

(gather tulling and nail in to canvas using a hot pink hammer)

(And Ta-Da!! Finally 8 months later we have wedding photos displayed!)

***The hardest part of this project was hanging it. I definitely had to play around with it and probably when we move I will try to flatten out the tulling a little more so that it is more flush against the wall**

The next crafty project was my favorite!! I think these would make great gifts for any occasion but I may be giving these for Christmas presents!

photo coasters: 4x4 tiles and 4x4 pics, glue photo onto tile with glue stick, cover with resin, mount 4 felt circles onto bottom corners

I used modge podge and definitely did not let mine dry long enough prior to stacking them - so next time I will be a little more patient!

(You will need modge podge, paint sponges, scissors, 6 tiles and 6 4X6 pictures)

(After pictures have been cut down to fit on top of tiles leaving a small boarder around the picture, spread modge podge on the back of the picture and let dry)

(Once the pictures have dried to the tile spread the modge podge on top of the pictures to add a seal. Made sure to spread thin and in the same direction. The modge podge will leave a light white coat on the picture but once it dries it goes away)

(Once everything is dry place 4 felt circles on the bottom of the tile and then enjoy an adult beverage!)

I had so much fun making these two crafts especially since they both involved our wedding pictures!

What crafts have you made from Pinterest? How did they turn out?

Xoxo,

"E"

PS. Both of these craft projects combined did not cost more than $30!! Thank goodness for hobby lobby sales and cheap photo prints!
