{Our} Weekend

Happy Monday - I am having a case of the Mondays today.
I really just want one more day of relaxing with Z and our fur babies!

This weekend I was determined that we were not doing anything but staying at home and catching up on our DVR shows...

Well this is how that turned out....

Friday I finished my craft I needed to go above my cabinets.
I for the life of me, could not figure out how to load staples in a staple gun.
Thank goodness for YouTube!
I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier!

My mom is the one who came up with this, so I do not have a Pinterest link or anything!

But this craft consist of an old window, staple material on the back, then tie a burlap ribbon on to your letter of choice and then staple the burlap to the window!

I really like what it added to the normal nick-knacks I had above our cabinets.

The rest of our Friday night consisted of pizza, DVR and me falling asleep by 930!
Best. Friday. Ever.

Saturday I surprised Z with a date day to Grapevine for Mexican food and a glass blowing class!

A couple of months ago he said how cool it would be to do a class,
so I did a little research and surprised him!!!

He had so much fun and I can not wait to get our ornament in the mail!

Sunday, after getting to sleep in late, we cleaned the house and I started baking for my Christmas Happy Hour!!

I am not sure what these are called but you just heat Hersey Kisses onto a pretzel using the trusty ol' microwave, then press M&M's into the Hersey Kiss.

I also made chocolate chip M&M cookies....Z helped me take some out of the oven and might have scraped the entire top off....no worries those he got to "test" to make sure they were good enough for the guest!

I am pretty much all set to go for my Christmas Happy Hour, which makes me very happy and not stressed!!

How was your weekend?
Did you do any crafts or Christmas baking??

Our {Thankful} Thanksgiving

Happy MONDAY!!!!

I have seriously not ever been so excited it is Monday because I had a very busy holiday weekend!

Thursday after stuffing our belly's 2 times, I sweet talked Z into taking on the crazies at Walmart at 8 pm on Thanksgiving night!

Needless to say I got everything I wanted!!!

Friday morning I headed out to get some of the good deals at other stores since dealing with the crazies on Thursday night was just not enough!

I found this little gem at Hobby Lobby for only $2.99!!!
What is a southern crafting girl without her leopard glue gun?!?!

My 3 Christmas crafts included these pretty bottles!

The very easy but very time consuming ornament wreath!
It looks so good on my front door!

AND this super cute Christmas card holder!
(I am going to keep it up all year long!)

how-to here....and no I didn't drink all of those bottles of wine in one night, it was two.

We even got all of our Christmas decorations up and I wrapped all of the presents!

Our two favorite ornaments - Ace and Louie!

Saturday night we met Alyssa and Chase in Downtown Fort Worth for the Parade of Lights!

Our favorite two floats were the motorcycle riding Elvis and Babe's Chicken House old bus!

On Sunday after church, we celebrated our babies 5th birthday!!!

Sweet Little Ace turned 5 years old yesterday!!!

How was y'alls Thanksgiving??
Did anyone else do any Christmas crafts or decorate your tree?

Xoxo,

Halloween {Crafting}

In an attempt to get into the Halloween Spirit and get my Pinterest crafting fix for the month, here are a few Halloween crafts I did this past week!

Halloween mix! My boss and I handed these out to our clients!

We kind of took a few mixes we liked from different Halloween mixes on Pinterest

Halloween Mix
~1 bag stick pretzels
~1 bag caramel pop corn
~2 bags candy corn
~1 bag candy corn flavored M&M's
~ 1/2 bag plain bugles
~ 1/2 bag white chocolate dipped bugles sprinkled with Halloween sprinkles

Last night I decorated the pumpkins I got this weekend at the farmer's market.

So I am not the best at the Chevron design, Z thought I was trying to make it look 3D.....

What Halloween crafts have you done?

Xoxo,

I've Been {Crafty}

I know we all "pin" these crafty little things on Pinterest and think "yes one day I will absolutely make that!"

Well I pinned like 50,000 crafts and finally decided I would try a couple out!

The first "pin" I tried was wedding photos on wooden frames

I feel like I could do this...so I shall give it a try!

I however changed it up a bit - I could not hang it straight across and I decided to use 8X10 canvas instead of wood.

(please excuse this sideways picture...you will need 3 8X10 canvas, modge padge, paint sponge and 3 8X10 photos)

(using paint sponge spread modge podge on back of picture and then place on canvas. Let dry)

(Once your pictures have dried, you and your furry little helper place the pictures the same width apart and lay tulling across the back of the canvas)

(gather tulling and nail in to canvas using a hot pink hammer)

(And Ta-Da!! Finally 8 months later we have wedding photos displayed!)

***The hardest part of this project was hanging it. I definitely had to play around with it and probably when we move I will try to flatten out the tulling a little more so that it is more flush against the wall**

The next crafty project was my favorite!! I think these would make great gifts for any occasion but I may be giving these for Christmas presents!

photo coasters: 4x4 tiles and 4x4 pics, glue photo onto tile with glue stick, cover with resin, mount 4 felt circles onto bottom corners

I used modge podge and definitely did not let mine dry long enough prior to stacking them - so next time I will be a little more patient!

(You will need modge podge, paint sponges, scissors, 6 tiles and 6 4X6 pictures)

(After pictures have been cut down to fit on top of tiles leaving a small boarder around the picture, spread modge podge on the back of the picture and let dry)

(Once the pictures have dried to the tile spread the modge podge on top of the pictures to add a seal. Made sure to spread thin and in the same direction. The modge podge will leave a light white coat on the picture but once it dries it goes away)

(Once everything is dry place 4 felt circles on the bottom of the tile and then enjoy an adult beverage!)

I had so much fun making these two crafts especially since they both involved our wedding pictures!

What crafts have you made from Pinterest? How did they turn out?

Xoxo,

PS. Both of these craft projects combined did not cost more than $30!! Thank goodness for hobby lobby sales and cheap photo prints!

Weekend {DIY} Project

This past weekend I finally had a chance to tackle my kitchen table. I got this huge round table a couple of years ago at a garage sale thing for $25, best.buy.ever.

Even though this table was only $25 it needed some help because the wood was super dry and literally everything would stick to it!

Saturday before little Louie's training class, we hopped over to Lowe's. Yes I take my little dog to Lowe's with me...if my big dog (Ace the bulldog) was not such a social ra-tard then I would take him everywhere with me!

This is my table before...see the white spots...that is a Christmas cooking spot.

Since we got our wood floors I felt like the wood table was just a bit much for my taste.

Last pic of the brown table!

I may have taken on a bigger task than I had thought it would be....

Priming this bad boy was a lot of work AND I still have paint on my leg and in my hair to prove it!

I had to paint the black paint on quick and hope it dried before I went to bed since it was suppose to rain today!

What do you think??

I personally am in love with the black table! I think it looks so much better than the old dried wood!

How was everyone's weekend? My birthday "week" started on Saturday and I may or may not have over did it on Z telling me to buy myself a bday present...I thought he said present(s) in the plural!

Style Me Swanky is hosting an online Stella and Dot trunk show for me! Stop by her blog to enter the giveaway!
